Taking a step back…
After spending 5 days in Adelaide with a sick grandmother, things have sort of fallen back into perspective a little. You know, we all work away hours in the day trying to make a living, instead of living our lives – and our lives just pass so quickly, and who knows how it all ends when we are older and need help ourselves.
I have to admit that I have neglected my kids over the past few months, being short and having little time for their questions and needs if I didn’t think it was important – forgetting that for them even the smallest things can be the world. How often did my 5 year old daughter come to me after going to bed saying “I want a cuddle in bed”, and I was so glued to the computer screen and said “In a minute”, just to discover an hour later that she had fallen asleep all alone and disappointed.
How can we take ourselves and what we think matters for so much more important?
I am sure there are many Internet Marketers who are guilty of doing the same thing. But no matter how interesting and fun this whole IM business is for us, we should not forget that there might be others (family and friends) who need our attention, too, and from whom we might ultimately get a lot more in return. Money is not everything (cliche’, but true!).
So, take a deep breath, have a good look at what you are doing and where you are heading, and see whether there is some part of your time that you could put to better use than spending it alone, glued to your computer. 🙂

An excellent reminder for me Petra, thank you. I can get so engrossed in what I am working on online that the rest of the world can fade into the background. I enjoy it so much that I do often neglect other more important things in life.
I am heading off the computer as soon as I press submit to go and have a chat with my son.
I really liked your blog!
Finally something new for me to learn and I am already subscribed. You can contact me if you need to. 😀
