  1. Everybody appears to be talking about twitter at the moment – probably because of the Hudson plane crash and tht guy taking the photo and distributing via twitter. I need to get my head around it.

  2. Hi, Twitter is the big news of the day. Just amazing how it just took off. I am on twitter, but still trying to figure it all out. I think the biggest issue with me, is all the apps for twitter. It seems every day someone creates a new widget, app, etc for this site, hard to exactly know which is best to use to promote…but I will keep on learning. Great post, thank you…Cheers

  3. Hi Joey,
there are a lot of Twitter applications out there, but I don’t think you should feel pressured or overwhelmed to try them all out. With Twitter I think you should just go with the flow, and whenever you come across an application you think you could use, put it in your bookmarks on the computer (create a “Twitter” folder first!) and use it whenever you remember that it’s there! That’s what I do, anyway. I have just discovered “TwitPic” http://www.twitpic.com and love it, so I will be using it more often now.

    1. Joseph, I think you need to put a twitter badge on your site that is more prominent than the one you have. What you have is only a display of how many twitter followers you have and links straight to the twitter buttons page, not your personal twitter home page.

    1. @formolo, Twitter is a great social networking tool where you can gather a large following of people who might be interested in what you have to say, or what you sell. It will help drive traffic to your site(s).

  4. This blog rocks! I gotta say, that I read a lot of blogs on a daily basis and for the most part, people lack substance but, I just wanted to make a quick comment to say I’m glad I found your blog. Thanks,

  5. Have tried twitter but just cant seem to get my head around the number of followers that you can gain in just a few weeks and to be honest most of them I don’t find that interesting following them.
The badges are great for anyone who is an avid twitterers but its just not for me or maybe I am looking at the whole thing in the wrong way.

    1. @Cali, you are not expected to read what all the people that follow you say. For me, whenever I log in to my Twitter account, I only scan the first site and see whether there is anything or anybody on there that interests me. I am quite sure that most people do it that way. But that also means that your tweets will not necessarily be read that much – unless you have got a real big following. The more people follow you the more will see your tweets and the higher your chances of getting them read. It’s all a numbers game.

  6. twitter is wonderful to get traffic and a great way to promote your business ,its better to join twitter groups that is similar to your business.thanks!

  7. I think social media plays an important role to make your business popular and twitter is one of the best social networking website ever.

  8. Having a twitter badge will make our blog stand out? Yes but I don’t think it’ll make anyone’s blog stand out…if they don’t have good content…no one would want to follow them. Correct?

Also I am amazed how much people go crazy about twitter, but yes a blogger should have twitter badge because people are mad about twitter and it can be good to make lots of fans through it.

Yeah…and as people above me have already said it…It’s definitely one of the great ways to get traffic so that’s why it’s one of the most useful tools out there. But one has to promote in a way which doesn’t annoy their followers or atleast those who’ve started to follow newly ๐Ÿ™‚

For businesses, to promote their business on twitter is a tough ask, they’ve to market their business very well on it so that they don’t turn people off.

  9. I have several twitter account and i use them in different purposes. I use only one id for extremely personal use and others are for business. Those business id’s have good looking badges and i use them in different sites. But don’t use personal one for this.

    1. The more people you follow, the more will follow you. Also, if you provide interesting and resourceful tweets, your following will increase.
You can leave links in your tweets to some of your blog posts or pages, they will not be dofollow but they will bring you more visitors.
